Korean, Japanese or cotton?

FabricHow it differs
KoreanFilament similar to the Japanese at a lower price, with lower quality and lifespan. There is no Korean cotton.
JapaneseFiner weave, more stable and more varied colours, better packaging and a longer life.
CottonA cool natural fibre that creases more; coloured cotton fades with washing.

How to judge quality by eye and touch

  • The finer the yarn, the softer the feel.
  • An even weave (warp and weft crossing equally) gives medium softness, as in spun-spun, filament-filament and spun-filament.
  • Pull the fabric with both hands: a good weave holds together and its threads do not part.
  • If a manufacturing defect shows in the fabric before it is tailored, you may exchange it or return it.

Care and ironing

  • Wash in water below 30°C, without too much detergent and without any bleach.
  • Rinse well to remove detergent residue.
  • Do not tumble-dry, so that no pilling forms; dry in the shade.
  • Iron at no more than 110°C.
