What is this fabric?
Filament is a continuous, uncut polyester yarn. It gives a smooth surface and a light, silk-like sheen, but it is not natural silk. It is blended with spun in “spun-filament”.
Who is it for?
- Summer: light weight and almost no creasing
- The everyday and work thobe
- Anyone who wants a light sheen
Available types
-
Tarraf Japanese filament
Fluid, needs no ironing, soft and full-bodied, twin ground — cream and white. The most requested at our branches. -
Tarraf plain filament
Japanese, fluid, a feel close to denim, semi-sheer — lemon and white. -
Filament-filament
Even weave with a light sheen. -
Spun-filament
A blend of spun and filament.
How to judge quality by eye and touch
- The finer the yarn, the softer the feel.
- An even weave (warp and weft crossing equally) gives medium softness, as in spun-spun, filament-filament and spun-filament.
- Pull the fabric with both hands: a good weave holds together and its threads do not part.
- Ramada fabrics keep their colour and last through repeated washing and ironing.
- If a manufacturing defect shows in the fabric before it is tailored, you may exchange it or return it.
Care and ironing
- Wash in water below 30°C, without too much detergent and without any bleach.
- Rinse well to remove detergent residue.
- Do not tumble-dry, so that no pilling forms; dry in the shade.
- Iron at no more than 110°C.
