What is this fabric?

Spun fabric is made from short polyester fibres, so its feel is closer to cotton and less glossy than filament. It is sometimes blended with cotton.

Who is it for?

  • An everyday thobe with a clean, even look
  • The daily work thobe
  • Trousers and underwear (Tetron)

Available types

  • Spun-spun

    Even weave with medium softness.
  • Spun-filament

A blend of spun and filament.
  • Original Tetron 2704

    100% polyester, made in Japan.
  • Japanese Kurabo Tetron

Cotton-like and cool, 35% cotton, colour-fast — for trousers and underwear, in navy and snow white.

How to judge quality by eye and touch

  • An even weave (warp and weft crossing equally) gives medium softness, as in spun-spun, filament-filament and spun-filament.
  • The finer the yarn, the softer the feel.
  • Pull the fabric with both hands: a good weave holds together and its threads do not part.
  • If a manufacturing defect shows in the fabric before it is tailored, you may exchange it or return it.

Care and ironing

  • Wash in water below 30°C, without too much detergent and without any bleach.
  • Rinse well to remove detergent residue.
  • Do not tumble-dry, so that no pilling forms; dry in the shade.
  • Iron at no more than 110°C.

Questions about this fabric

Does it crease or wrinkle?

Only a little — polyester creases less. The higher the cotton share in a fabric, the more it creases.

Does the fabric shrink after washing?

No. Shrinkage happens only in cotton, linen, ramie, rayon and fabrics with a high cotton content.

Does the colour fade with washing?

No, our fabrics hold their colour over the long term, except some coloured fabrics whose colour-fastness depends on how they were treated.
