Oxford fabrics — a fine square weave, light and heavy
Oxford fabric is part of the polyester family: a fine square weave with a more defined feel than spun, in two weights, light and heavy.

How can you tell it is genuine?

What is this fabric?
Oxford is a “basket” weave in which yarns cross in pairs, giving a fine square pattern on the surface. Its feel is slightly rougher and it is more durable.

How to judge quality by eye and touch
- Oxford feels slightly rougher than spun because its weave is a square pattern.
- Pull the fabric with both hands: a good weave holds together and its threads do not part.
- If a manufacturing defect shows in the fabric before it is tailored, you may exchange it or return it.
Care and ironing
- Wash in water below 30°C, without too much detergent and without any bleach.
- Rinse well to remove detergent residue.
- Do not tumble-dry, so that no pilling forms; dry in the shade.
- Iron at no more than 110°C.

Questions about this fabric
Does it crease or wrinkle?
Only a little — polyester creases less. The higher the cotton share in a fabric, the more it creases.
Does the fabric shrink after washing?
No. Shrinkage happens only in cotton, linen, ramie, rayon and fabrics with a high cotton content.
Does the colour fade with washing?
No, our fabrics hold their colour over the long term, except some coloured fabrics whose colour-fastness depends on how they were treated.
